Would the RA 50 or 55 give my little peanut more legroom?

Also- do they both have the ratcheting harness? I wasn't sure what that was until I was stalking the threads here, but will it make tightening the harness more difficult than other seats?

Neither is a ratcheting harness. The 55 seems a bit deeper but the 50 has shorter sides so legs could "flop" out. If you are really concerned about having leg room for rear facing the diono radians and maxi cosi pria have about the most on the market. The graco myride also has quite a bit of room.

Also, feet touching the seat back is not a concern. Legs can be quite bunched in there and be completely safe!
