Which car seat(s) for 3 yr old and new baby in big SUV?

Everyone is mentioning the Marathon. I think the Decathlon is replacing the Marathon, and I want to get the newest possible seat so I have the longest time before it expires. Are Marathons still being manufactured, or am I correct in going with the Decathlon for this reason?

mmm....I personally have never heard that the Decathlon is replacing the Marathon? FWIW, I purchased my MA's in June '06. I just went with the Marathon because of the price and cover selections. I think the Decathlon would also be a great purchase!! Maybe someone on here knows about this "replacing" issue. By the way, where did you happen hear they maybe replacing the MA?

As far as expiring(6 years), my seats were bought from www.travelingtikes.com June '06 and their MFg. date was March '06. Maybe you can ask before your purchase your new seats what the Mfg. date is.

Also Britax just told me yesterday that they have a one year warranty from "date of purchase", but that they usually try to cover for about a 1 1/2 after "date of purchase".

One of the web sites I was looking at, I think said Decathlon was the new update to Marathon. But that's good to know that the Marathon isn't going anywhere.

The DC is a newER model than the MA, but is not replacing it. HTH!

Maybe their just letting us know that the DC is the step up from the MA. Like more features, etc...
