What is this seat?

Would you recommend that or the Guide 65 as a travel seat that fits in small cars RF, is comfortable and easy for long flights, and could get an average kid to 3.5 or so RF?

The Guide 65 may fit easier in airplane seats. May want to make a separate post asking about how they both fit in plane seats. The Apt is super lightweight, but it's wide.

It's pretty easy to get the Apt installed, although it can take a bit of a learning curve. It doesn't have a "foot" and it's not easy to use a rolled towel or pool noodles to help with it's angle rear facing, although they are allowed. You pretty much use your weight while installing to the get the angle right. The Guide 65 has the same base design as all the other Cosco seats like it, so it could be tough to get your hand through it and sometimes really hard to get it tight, esp depending on the seatbelts (long buckle stalks often needed to be twisted down out of the belt path).

The Apt may or may not get a kid to 3.5 rear facing. It would depend on how tall they are. If they are shorter in the torso or just short in general it will. But it is nearly outgrown forward facing before rear facing, b/c while the shell itself is really tall and the weight limit is 40 lbs, it's harness slots are really low for a seat with it's limits (like 14.5 inches)
