Question Volkswagon Jetta Car Seats

Hello -

I am registered for a Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat. Will this fit into our VW Jetta - 2003 model, rear-facing in the middle? Also, what covertible car seat do you recommend for a smaller car?

Yep, it'll fit just fine. Keep in mind you'll need to install with the seat belt in the middle - LATCH in your vehicle is for the outboard positions only.

In general, we like the Safety 1st Guide 65, Evenflo Triumph, Graco MyRide, First Years True Fit, Graco Size4Me, Safety 1st Complete Air, Britax Marathon, Maxi Cosi Pria, and Diono Radian. All will fit your vehicle just fine.

Are you registering for a convertible now? If you're hoping to receive one as a gift, that's fine, however I would suggest waiting until your child is a little bit older. Just so it's not sitting around your house using up a year of its life sitting in a closet, and also because you may want to wait and see how your child grows before making a choice. They're not all necessarily the same in terms of how long they'll last in weight/height and if your child happens to be heavier or taller you'll want to choose carefully to ensure you have a seat that will get your child to a safe forward facing age (around 3-4 years old).

i have a 2003 jetta and used the chicco keyfit 30. It fits just fine. We now have the britax marathon 70 G3 in the middle of the backseat, rear-facing, and it also fits fine.
