This is a question from another message board, but I was wondering your opinions:

Can using an expired car seat effect insurance coverage in the event of an accident??

I'm quite certain that it could. Failure to wear your seatbelt can affect insurance coverage, as well as removal of a head rest in a position that came with one.

In states where there is a proper use clause, using an expired restraint could also mean legal trouble as well.

Yes, this. :)

When I had my accident the insurance co asked for dates of manufacture on both seats that were in the vehicle.
