True Fit replacement foam... or are they on sale anywhere?

So I took the cover off of our True Fit to give it a bath, and left the shell by the door. I guess my mistake was leaving it in reach of a two year old  because I was doing something in the kitchen today and came back and DD had ripped the foamy cushion off the back of the seat. Not the white foam, but the green thing that is glued on to it.

I called Learning Curve CS but she said they don't have replacement foam and I have to buy a new seat. Do you think she was right? I know she probably is, it is her job... but I guess I am just hoping.

And so does anyone know if it is/will be on sale anywhere soon? It isn't urgent because it is our spare seat.

Thanks!

Wow that sucks. I hate making expensive mistakes. Hmmm not sure how accurate she was but I would be willing to call c/s a few times to talk to different people to see if the answer is consistent. As far as sales go, Zellers puts theirs on sale ever 4-6 weeks (two weeks ago being most recent) for around $150-170.

Im not fully familiar with a naked true fit, so I dont know what piece you are talking about, but is it possible to glue it back on? Is it a safety foam or a comfort type foam piece? I'd call back and ask if thats a possibility before going out and purchasing an entire new seat.

Also, sometimes they dont have those certain parts for sale, but if the CS rep wanted to help bad enough they can search the warehouse and find one laying around. thats how I got my replacement comfort foam for my RN that is not a replacement part they sell.

It is just comfort foam... and unfortunately she ripped it into about 12 pieces. I think I'm going to try calling again just to check... it feels so wasteful to have to replace a seat for *just* that reason.

If it's in an area that the head may contact during a collision then she's likely right. Comfort foam does count towards meeting the compression/deflection standard part of CMVSS 213/213.1, so it actually is an integral part to the seat.

Sorry you're having to deal with this. Kids and their mischief, huh?
