Trouble with the boot on a diono and a Subaru forester

I have been told by many that I can get 3 diono radian across a 2010 Subaru forester but I'm having trouble with boot, the problem is that I need to get it in without in angle adjuster as I have a newborn. The subaru's seat doesn't split right where the bottom and back meet so there isn't a place to push the teeth on the boot under the seat. I cant figure out how to post pictures but Is it ok to just push the boot up and make I tight? If not how are people doing this??

Just lay it flat on the backseat, don't worry about tucking it anywhere. Diono just doesn't want the boot of the seat away from the backseat (other carseats DO allow for their bases to be inches away from the backseat, which is why Diono says to have it touching).

You'll probably have to install the newborn's in the middle. I don't think you'll be able to get it to fit on either side without the angle adjuster.
