Question Thin snowsuit

My niece is due with her first in January and is not using a bucket seat but starting off with the Peg Perego convertible. Any recommendations on a car seat friendly fleece or down snow suit?

There are 2 car seat safe fleece suits that are commonly recommended. they are from Carter's http://www.carters.com/carters-baby...&cgid=carters-baby-girl-jackets-and-outerwear http://www.carters.com/carters-baby...gid=carters-baby-boy-jackets-and-outerwearand and Old Navy http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=73896&vid=1&pid=633872042 http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=73896&vid=1&pid=921280012. Both are thin enough to allow the harness to be properly adjusted, but still warm enough to keep baby comfy without overheating. Also, it is important to get one that fits snugly (for example, start with newborn size, not 3months), if it is too large it will bunch up and prevent the harness from being fitted properly. I use the old navy one for my niece, it works great.

I'm also due in january and I'll be buying Carters for one reason they come in newborn size. I had a baby in November of last year and went straight for the 0-3m size, she swam in it. It was probably a good 6-8 weeks till I felt it fit enough to be used in a carseat. My babies are average size 7.5lbs at birth but chunk up quickly, usually around 11lbs at 6 weeks. Hope that helps :)

This is a great suit that is thin enough to go in a carseat harness and warm enough for colder days since it is made with microfleece.

Plus it is a great, local, small company with super cute colors and designs.

Looking at the sizing it looks like it is sized as 0-6 months. Anything that is sized big enough to fit a 6 month old will have too much extra fabric to allow a proper harness fit on a newborn.

Fleece is the best way to keep a baby warm safely in general, but something like this that is over-sized wouldn't be safe for a newborn.

I have both the carters one and the old navy ones linked earlier. I found that the old navy one was too thick for the car seat. The carters one is thin enough for car seat usage though while keeping baby warm. I'm not sure about for a newborn but I really love our columbia and hanna andersson ones.
