Tether in 2004 Trailblazer

My sister just called me. She just got two new Nautis(to replace AOs) for her boys and was working on getting them installed. She has an '04 Trailblazer and was questioning how to use the top tether. Apparently the headrests don't go up and she's wondering if it's okay to route the tethers over the headrests or if she needs to try to jam them in between the seat/headrest. I told her to consult the manual and she said it didn't address it and that on the page talking about tethering it showed a picture of a vehicle that doesn't even have headrests.

Also, have anyones kiddos complained about the Nautilus being itchy?? The boys said that the harness pads are itchy. Hmm... Other than that they love their new "spaceship" seats. :)
Don't even get me started on her having baby FF. I've tried. It's a losing battle.

are you sure it's an 04? according to the manual you raise the headrest and route the tether under it (page 1-39).
Anchor the top strap to one of the following anchor
points. Be sure to use an anchor point located on the
same side of the vehicle as the seating position
where the child restraint will be placed.

Raise the head restraint and route the top strap under
it.
See Head Restraints on page 1-5.
Also, make sure she's using the triangle shaped anchors directly behind the second row seats, not the cargo anchors farther back.
Top Strap Anchor Location
Anchor brackets for the rear seat positions are located
on the floor in the cargo area of your vehicle
(TrailBlazer only). Do not use the rear tie-down brackets
near the liftgate for top strap tethers.

the harness pads are optional if they're bothering the boys. :)

I am not sure about '04, but we have an '03 and the back head rests do not raise. What I do is push the button to fold the seats. The head rest than folds down and I can thread the tether through and push the seat and head rest back into proper position. Its a lot easier than trying to jam it through, but that is doable as well.

She's crawling all over her car as I type and she says the headrests absolutely don't go anywhere.
I'd go help her, but she's 6hrs away and my husband says that at 8 months pregnant I can't drive all the way across SD by myself to make sure they are properly installed.

Thanks! I'll let her know. :)

My sister's '02 manual says the same thing, and her headrests are fixed too.

That's what I do in my sister's truck too.
