Suggestions for car seat with high base

I am looking for suggestions for a car seat with a high base. I have a Ford Ranger and I need a rear facing convertible seat for my L.O. I bought a Diono Radian RXT but had to throw it out because my seat belts posts are too high. I need a seat with a taller base to accommodate my passenger belt. I have been looking at the Recaro Pro ride and or the Performance Ride. the belt path needs to be at least 16cm (about 6 1/4 inches) high.

I'm not familiar with that vehicle, and I am not an expert at recommending seats.
But the "classic" Britax convertibles sit on a pretty high base. The "newer generation" ones sit on a decent sized base that may work.
These Britax seats also have the option to tether RF, and have built in lockoffs for seatbelt installs-a nice feature!

A Graco MyRide also sits up on a pretty high base. It's a bit less expensive than some of the Britax convertibles.
It does NOT have seatbelt lockoffs. Nor can you tether it RF, if you were interested in that.

Both of my recommendations are not small seats, sorry.
I hope that helps/gives you a place to start!

If you live close to a Babies R Us, they will let you take seats out to your car to see if they will work.
Sometimes its worth a drive there to "play" with carseats : )

I thought the Radian allowed the buckle to lay inside the belt path, as long as the buckle was *completely* in the belt path?

Also, if the buckle stalks are not encased in plastic, the plastic can be removed, or aren't metal cords like some are, they can be twisted up to three times in order to pull them out of the belt path. This reduces their strength a tad, but not enough to cause harm or prevent the belts from working properly in a crash. We used to have to do that w/my Chrysler Town & Country.

I had the best luck w/my classic Britax convertibles and our Evenflo Triumph Advance (or 65 or Momentum, same belt path) w/those seatbelts.

The Recaro's probably would work today, but I'd try the others first. It's such a tall seat and doesn't offer much leg room.
