Snugride base question

I am having a new baby in about 7 weeks. Our own snugride is 5 years old, along with the bases. I am choosing to borrow my brother's snugride, because it has EPS foam in it (and mine doesn't) , and I am absolutely certain of its history.

My question is are my own 5 year old bases ok to use, or should I borrow his newer ones as well? I know mine are not expired, but they are a lot closer to the 6 year expiration than his are! Am I being TOO rediculous?

Since yours aren't expired, I don't see any reason not to use them. However, if it makes you more comfortable and isn't a problem, go ahead and borrow your brothers.

Check the weight limit on your bases. In the recent past, Graco changed the weight limit from 20 to 22 pounds. You can use the 20 pound limit bases with the 22 pound seats, but not past 20 pounds.

So you may want to borrow his bases as well.
