We just bought this seat based on recomendations from this site (what a great resource!)--we had been considering the Recaro Signo.
This is the first convertible seat I've had to install, and I didn't find it easy, but perhaps it was user error. The most difficult thing was the fact that for rear facing you have to thread the seatbelt with the cover off (our car does not have latch in the center seat), but have to put the cover back on before you tighten the belt--or you can't get the cover back open. Once I figured this out it was't so bad.
I also struggled with trying to get the level line level, so I'm thrilled to read that it's not critical!
My wife's a little worried that she won't be able to use her mirror anymore to see Cailin, but I assume there must be a rounded mirror on the market that makes it easier to see your child over a tall seat--any suggestions?
Anyway, it does seam to be a great seat, and we're thrilled at the side impact protection combined with rear facing to 40 lbs! Hopefully Cailin will like riding in it!

It is pretty impossible to get the cover back on once it's installed. I just do my best to tuck it into place. I can't put it back on before I tighten it though or I can't get at the seat belt at all. But I do get it rock solid!
