My son is 2 1/2, 31 pounds and 34 inches. I am debatting whether or not to purchase the Safeguard Go car seat. I just purchased a wagon that is small and his current carseat is just too tight.
I want to make the right decision before spending the $200 for it. Any comments?

Your son just meets the minimum 30 lb. weight requirement to ride in the Go if I remember the Go's specs correctly. You can check out a very detailed review of the Go in the the Car Seat Reviews forum at http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=5970. The general consensus among board regulars is that the Go is a good option for a secondary/spare/travel seat, but not necessarily the best option for a primary seat that's used all the time.

Does your wagon have top tether anchors? The Go requires a top tether anchor to use in harnessed mode. If your wagon doesn't have a top tether anchor, it probably can be retrofitted with one by obtaining a tether retrofit part/kit from the car dealership. A tech with a LATCH manual can probably give you details/part numbers if you post your car's make, model name and model year.

I agree with what Jean said. I have a SafeGuard Go and love it, but I would not use it as a primary seat.

Is his current carseat too small for your son, or is it a tight fit in the car? What seat is it?

I agree with Jean about the GO - it's more of a spare seat...

I'd like to offer an additional opinion ;) At 2 1/2 and 31lbs, he would be much much safer rear-facing. If money is an issue, then get a Scenera that about $50 and that will rear face until 35lbs. :)
