While installing my roundabout RF a few months ago I ripped the foam pad that's under the cover.
A few months later I used a thin, cotton, toddler pillowcase (it fits widlth-wise perfectly) to cover the pad and I created a slit for the lower buckle to go thru normally. It does not even come close to the upper portion of the harness- it pretty much just covers the butt portion, and up the curve to about 1 or 2 inches of the back.
This makes install SOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier (fishing the seatbelt thru used to take a few minutes because it would get twisted, or mysteriously stuck/lost and with the pillowcase it literally takes less than 10 seconds to get it thru smoothly).
But now reading about aftermarket stuff, I have to wonder if this would be a very bad thing. *I* don't see how it would affect function at all, but I figured that somebody on here would have more insight.
Is the tearing of the foam problematic in and of itself?
TIA
