Rigid LATCH seat in Honda Civic

My sister just drove off with Nadia in the Clek Olli. I couldn't get it to LATCH in, though, because of the way the vehicle padding interfered with the anchors. Any tips for next time?

What year is her Civic?

The LATCH anchors (both lower and tether) in my 2006 Civic are a royal PITA to use. They are buried DEEP in the seat and are angled funny. :(

I'm not sure off the top of my head. I think the angle is a bigger problem than the depth.

The last time we used a booster in the Civic, it was the Oobr, and it wasn't a problem. Unfortunately, the Oobr is in DH's car right now, and he wasn't home when sis showed up to get the girls.
