RF Tether with Britax Boulevard CT

Hi - I have a 2014 Britax Blvd CT with a tether for RF. I currently have it attached to the track for the front passenger seat since I couldn't find any other anchor spot. My car is a 2007 Acura TL. I read the manual but it only references tether anchors for FF installs. I did find something that states "do not do anything that would increase or decrease the weight on the front passenger's seat" which makes me think I shouldn't have it attached to the bottom track. I did have it inspected and they also didn't think I should attach it there and also didn't see any other spot for me to attach it too. I called Britax but was on hold for over 20 mins so I thought I would try asking here. . . . Does anyone know if my car is compatible with RF tether? I'd hate to not use it but I'm not sure what to do. Thanks so much!

With that statement I wouldn't personally be comfortable tethering there unless you never have a front seat passenger.

You can do Australian tethering, or you could skip the tether (and get an Anti Rebound Bar if desired.)

That quote doesn't make any sense to me. The weight on the front passenger seat is going to have varying weight in it with varying passengers... right? Am I not understanding correctly?

The sensors measure that weight to determine size and position to calculate force at which to deploy. Adding or decreasing weight from a source other than The passenger could result in an incorrect calculation and therefore to injury.

Putting a tether on the seat track is a bit like lifting up or pressing down on a scale. That force is going to mess up the measurement of the thing that is actually on the scale/seat, possibly causing the airbag to deploy incorrectly.

Thanks so much for your responses. I do have a passenger quite a bit (me - when my husband drives) so I'll remove the tether and get the anti rebound bar. I really wish I had an anchor to tether to but I guess the anti rebound bar is what they are doing now anyways. Thanks for your input!
