My daughter is in an Evenflo Tribute at her grandparents house. Her papaw has an Isuzu truck that she is in occasionally(rides in her grandma's Corolla most of the time). Is her car seat ok RF on a seat like this with part of the car seat hanging off?

She can ride back there as long as there's not more than 20% overhang and a proper install is achieved. Rear or forward facing.

That's not a problem if they're front-facing.

So she shouldn't ride back there while she's still rear facing then?

Sorry, I was referring to the VEHICLE seats being forward-facing, not the child restraints. Some jump seats are side-facing, and you can't install a child restraint on those. Vehicle seats that face the front of the car are fine, though, for a rear-facing or forward-facing child restraint.

So like Wendy said, as long as the seat installs properly, you're fine. Sorry to confuse!

Have done installs on seats like these and they have issues. Rf has issues because of the front to back space. Ff the front of the seat (the front lip) was not on the seat so it didn't install right at all. Good luck.

The one I really remember we ended up having to put the child in the front seat. Parents had bought a combination seat for an 18m. We couldn't get a tight install at all in the backseat.

Thanks! I've installed it once myself and got a pretty tight install, but I after reading some things wanted to make sure it was ok. I'll have to check how much overhang there is. Front to back space didn't seem to be an issue.
