Regent questions

Does anyone have problems with the Regent harness straps twisting or getting bunched? It seems like they always twist and also bunch up at the top, where it comes out of the shell.

As far as tightening, I have a difficult time getting it tight enough. I don't know if I'm just not strong enough or what? I'm used to the Evenflo Triumph, so it's a change for me getting used to the front tightening style. Is it just me?

I also noticed in the manual that it says to use a locking clip if the seat belts are non locking ELR. I can't find it in my vehicle owner's manual to see if they are or not. I've also looked online with no luck, and tried to email Buick. Does anyone know where else I can find out? I have a 2004 Rendezvous.

Thanks!

If you have a 2004, your belts lock either at the retractor or at the plate. I don't have any problems with the Husky but I've heard other discussions about the recent Britax straps being softer than the older versions.

I have had a horrible time with mine. If they are TOO terrible, you might want to call Britax and complain. They may send you a new set of straps...(which will probably be just as bad as the old ones...)

After owning a MA...I must say that, in comparison, I am NOT impressed with the Regent's straps.

Sorry you're having troubles, too! :(

I've definitely noticed a difference in harnesses with our Regents vs. Marathons. I don't have any serious issues, but they do seem more prone to pinching/bunching. It's NEVER an issue with the Marathon. Ever. On the Regent, it's seems more an issue on my older DD's seat. But the two seats are only a week apart on DOM.

Dylan's regent straps twist pretty frequently, and those little elastic straps that are supposed to hold them out of the way like the velcro on the Marathon - doesn't seem like they ever work to me. On one side, the strap is actually almost always twited over a little bit inside the buckle and I have to straighten it out every time. I wouldn't change the seat for anything, cuz, uh, I can't. :) Its the only one he fits in, but sheesh, for such an expensive seat you kinda figure the straps would be better. Always leaves me wondering why couldn't they just use the same thicker straps like on the Marathon?

My dh hopelessly tangles dd's regent straps every.single.time.

I dont have any issues. I just make sure everything is straight each time.

Your belts are probably locking latchplates... I remember in my 2002 Rendezvous I was amazed at how well it installed a seat with so little effort. (the lapbelt stays tight, the shoulderbelt will always be loose... the manual might say how it works in the carseat installation section)

:)
