Regent not good in my car...now what?

So...I had my heart set on getting DS a regent and giving DD his marathon. DS is 2.5 and 30lbs and DD is 13 months and 19lbs.

DS is currently ff in the marathon, but I am gonna put DD rf in it. I went to BRU today and tested the regent in my 2004 Saturn VUE and it was not good. It almost felt like DS was gonna be sitting in the front seat. It was enormous!!!! While he has tons of room to grow, it was just way to big. What are my other options? Should I just suck it up and get another Marathon?

How about the GN, or Recaro, or Radian, anything else that strikes your fancy? I really want to keep him harnessed as long as possible.

From what I was told, the GN would last longer than the Radian. It is a nice seat. I got one for my DS. I also ordered a Regent for my van, but now I'm a little nervous about how big it is going to be!!

I would steer away from the Radian, unless you've tried it in your vehicle. It seemed to install best in vehicles with "cushy" seats and IIRC (from test-driving a dozen or so Vues), the seats lean more towards the hard side? Correct me if I'm wrong. :) For that reason, I think I'd go with the Nautilus. If you can wait a few more weeks, the Compass True Fit will be out and you can see what folks say about it...

Good luck!

Who makes the Compass True Fit? When is it coming out? Do we know anything about it yet?

The seats in the VUE are on the little harder side. Thanks for that tip. So the Regent is out and the Radian is out. Are there other options besides the Graco? I just want to make sure I test the water on all of them.

I tend to have kids that are on the smaller side. Should I just get another marathon and be done with it?
