Recommendations for a tall seat and a narrow seat

I have a friend who is adopting a 4 year old little girl. She weights 23 lbs and is 38 inches tall. She is looking for a taller seat to bring her home in. Any suggestions on a taller seat?

This same friend is also having trouble with her 2 year old's seat. He weighs 21 lbs and is in a graco convertible. It is so large for him that he ends up leaning and is out of position. She wants to get him a narrower seat. Any suggestions? (I already recommended she put him back rear-facing but won't because of screaming. :( )

Thanks,
Sara

I am thinking that a MA would work for both of them. The 4 year old should get tons of time out of a MA, considering how small she is. And if she's willing to put her RF, she'll have plenty of time that way also.

As for the 2 year old, he is a small one as well so I like the MA in that case also. Or she could even get a RA for him (since its a little cheaper), since it sounds like he'll have a few years in it, and than pass the MA down from his sister. That plan, though, would all depend on the weight gain of his sister, because she sounds like she should be harnessed for a while to come.

As for him "leaning" and therefore getting out of place, I've never had this happen (not saying it doesn't happen, just don't have personal experience with it :)) so I'd just encourage her to make sure that his harness is tight (no matter if she sticks with the graco or goes for another seat), so that he'll have very little room to be moving side to side.

Just my two cents.

My 1st thought is the Marathon/Decathalon/Wizard/Boulevard - I'd give both kids the choice to shooce 1 from those options (they're all basically the same, same weight/height requirements & same seat shell) ... or they could both use the Graco Ultra/Platinum CarGo as well.
