I am looking for a convertible to be used by the local grandparents and also by us while traveling. Details:
DS is currently 14 mos, 21 lbs, and 31" - average height but slim. Somewhat long-torsoed/short-legged compared to other babies his height.
One set of grandparents live near us and we would like for them to have a car seat. However, ideally it would be seat easy to install/remove when they want to carry multiple adult passengers. Car is a 2005 VW Passat.
We would also like to use this seat for travel (planes and rental cars), so I have been eyeing the Radian (foldable, narrow, but I hear harder to install) and Coccoro (could get stroller frame, narrow, but won't last as long). Have heard mixed things about Scenera's comfort and whether there are safety trade-offs for that bargain price.
Our current car seat, in our Hyundai Sonata, is a Recaro ProRide. I admit we did not fully investigate its long-term RF usability before buying - so far we LOVE it, but I realize now DS's legs may get cramped early. We could potentially swap the seats then - put ProRide in grandparents' car for occasional use, put Seat2 in our car, assuming Seat2 allows for longer RF.
Thank you for bearing with the long post... Suggestions for our travel/grandparent Seat2?
