Question Recaro Vivo users...do you like this seat?

Hi everyone. I'm thinking of purchasing a Recaro Vivo for my 7 year old, but I will have to purchase it online since it is not sold anywhere near me. Before I buy one I was wondering if any of you who own one would share your likes and dislikes regarding this seat.

I read the reviews on the Recaro site and most are good but one lady said that the lap belt stretches across her child's stomach instead of across his hips like it should. Have you noticed that with your seat?

Does the shoulder belt retract easily when the child gets out, or does it get hung up.

How heavy is the seat?

This booster seat is a great seat and seems to work well for a lot of people. The shoulder belt twisting is known to happen with certain types of seatbelts, so it really just depends on what kind of car you have.

I have one for my DD and I love it. I haven't had any problems with the belt yet.

Thanks. I think I'll give it a try. I wish I could buy it locally and try it first but we drove 100 miles to the biggest shopping area in our state and they didn't have it, so I guess I'll have to order it online.

I haven't looked around for the best price on it, but if you're worried you may have to return it, elitecarseats.com has a great return policy. It's like $1 to get return insurance on it. Then you won't have to pay extra if you did need to return it for some reason.

Here is a thread with photos comparing the fit on my 6 year old, and Scatterbunny's 7 year old. It fit my average 6 year old very well.

I would think to ride up on the tummy, that person had to be routing OVER the armrests... cause the vivo has the armrests done so well and most kids it's not even TOUCHING the abdomen... it's totally on the thighs.
