Question rear facing britax

Installing a rear facing britax marathon 70 for a 21 month old and when she is in the seat she presses her feet on the back of the vehicle seat and the top of the carseat moves down a little. Needing to know if she should be turned around. The seat is staying tight just wasn't sure if it would hurt the seat.

It is fine as long as the seat stays tight where it is secured with latch or seatbelt. My DS does the same in his MA70

No it should not hurt the seat, my son does the same thing to both both car seats. The first time I actually pulled over to make sure his seat was installed! (It was :)

No need to forward face yet!

I have a 2.5, almost 3 yo RF in a BLVD 65( new gen with the black base, just the Canadian edition only goes to 65 lbs) and he ALWAYS
does that.. it freaked me out too at first, as it looks like it would damage the seat, but if you take the seat out of the car all together at some point just press your hand down on one side of the bum area (close to the side by the child's hip) and put a little bit of pressure on it and you'll see it move down. There is a pin which guides the seat down into the base, lowering the child's center of gravity (into the SafeCells) in the event of a crash. the SafeCells are moderately flexible, so when the child kicks the back of the seat, they compress the SafeCells just slightly. Not harmful at all, just the way the seat is designed. I wouldn't be concerned at all unless the seat was becoming loose at the BELT/LATCH PATH. The back of the child seat will have some give when RF, even with the top tether attached as this tether is not designed to be pulled overly tight, but just enough to remove all slack from the tether webbing to reduce rebound potential in an accident. Definitely not a reason to FF quite yet :)

Kayden - 2.5 RF BLVD 65 & RF Truefit Layla- 6 FF BLVD 65 CS & HBTB

Mine is rear facing, nearly 45 lbs, coming up on 3 and a half, and his way of throwing a fit involves kicking his feet and banging his head back. It's pretty dramatic, very annoying, and very much a 3 year old. But, none of his seats have ever shown signs of coming even a bit looser or breaking.

Is the seat installed with LATCH or seatbelt?

ETA: nevermind I just noticed you said the seat IS staying tight
