Radian XTSL Angle Adjuster

Hello,

Has anyone tried the new angle adjuster? We have tried in with our rear facing XTSL in a 2001 Toyota 4runner behind the passenger seat. When making a turn, the entire car seat leans over (like a windshield wiper). We have it tethered to the frame of the passenger seat and the lap/shoulder belt is as tight as we can get it. What could we be doing wrong?

Thanks

Nothing to do with the angle adjuster.

The problem is there is tension shoulder belt portion due to the way the belt locks and that causes the seat to "slide"along the belt. There is nothing wrong with your installation technique, it is just an idiosyncrasy of the RF Radian (and several other rear facing seats). The way to solve the problem is to use a locking clip. Here is a link to more information about a locking clip.

http://www.carseatsite.com/lockingclips.htm

The section titled My lap/shoulder seat belt locks automatically, but pulls a rear-facing carseat up on one side. specifically address the problem you are having.

**Note the comment about rear-facing until at least 20 lbs and 1 year...that is outdated information. In March 2011 the recommendation was changed to AT LEAST 2 years old and PREFERABLY to the limits of the car seat the child is riding in.***

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. I will see if that helps. This isn't the primary car for hauling kids, but what I've been using and has been frustrating.
