Radian XT worth the extra money?

I can get a Radian SL for right at $200 or a Radian XT for $270. It will be for Joshua, who turned 4 in April and is 33 lbs. and almost 40" tall. The main difference, I know is the head wings. I like them, but do they really provide more protection?

I just bought my XTSL on Friday for $167 and it will be here Tuesday. I really like the headwings when I played with Radians at the store.

Welcome back, Sam! I haven't seen you around here in quite a while!
Wait, Joshua is FOUR!?!?! How did that happen?

I have a Radian XT and I LOVE it. I personally love the headwings, but I would be just as comfortable purchasing a 65 or 80.

You can get probably get it cheaper somewhere. But... can you swing the extra $70? Is it gonna be a sacrifice? If not, you might as well. Because there will never be a time where you say, "Wow, I wish I hadn't added that safety feature." They might be totally useless, but I'm sure they offer some modicum of protection and for me, it would be worth the price difference. If for no other reason so I never have to think, "I wish I'd done more."

You ask if they're worth $70. Maybe, maybe not. But I'll phrase it differently- Is $70 worth not having another layer or protection around your kid's noggin? For me, no.

But I don't think either seat is a bad choice, and I'm happy to see you back!
