Radian in a Subaru?

I will possibly be riding in a friend's car today, which is a Subaru, and only have a Radian for my 2yo. He's still rf. I seem to remember reading that rf Radians and Subarus don't get along. Am I remembering correctly? Any tips to make it work? I do have the angle adjuster if that helps.

What year? The older ones were for difficult, but with twisting the belt stalk down and moving the seat away from the belt stalk, I made it work.

I'm not sure what year. We ended up leaving him home with our teenage daughter this time. But thanks for the tips. I can use them next time.
