Someone help me out here please . Where in the manual does it say the Radian has to have harness covers for FF? I have SKJP 80SLs and can't find it in the manual. TIA!

Where it shows how to place the child in the seat it says something to the effect of "always use strap covers attached as shown" and there is a pic showing the correct orientation for the pads. Longer end goes on top.
If you call, they will tell you they are optional RF, required FF (in Canada). I think they might have said they are completely optional in the USA, but not positive since it doesn't apply to me ;)

Ah, thank you! So I'm not losing my mind after all. I was looking in the online manual (which doesn't have the pic) and then in the manual for the seat in my garage (which also doesn't have the pic). So I went out to the van and dug out THAT manual and found the pic.

I hate those stupid covers. Did Diono say it's okay to swap them out for the old-style regular covers?

Americans can ditch those covers or swap them for the old ones, but Canadians can't. They are required in order to meet CMVSS 213 forward facing.

See discussion on Diono's Facebook page in a post by Samantha Waddell on February 9th. Sorry, I don't know how to link directly to that post.
