I went to Buy Buy Baby today to compare the Monterey and the Parkway SGL with dd sitting in them both. She fit nicely in both and we really liked them. My biggest complaint with the Monterey is the weight of it. It's massive! Not only in weight but in size. The BBB employee was telling me that the Monterey is, pretty much, a better seat b/c of it's weight. He said that in an accident, it's best to have a heavier seat under a smaller child. This is a booster for training, so it's not like dd is 7 or 8 years old (she's almost 5). Any truth to what he said? The reason we're going to go with either the Monterey or the PK is b/c of the LATCH. If we use LATCH, will the weight of the seat really matter in a collision since they're both locked into the vehicle?
