Question Question about stroller DOM

I got my Joovy Kooper yesterday, super fast shipping I tell ya!

Anyways I was looking it over and foubd the DOm and it is 08-2008. I was thinking I was going to get a new model. Like a 2009 at least!!!

So I called diapers.com and the girl said that when strollers are manufacured they always manufacture for the following year. For example, my stoller's DOM is for 08-2008 but it really is for the 2009 model. I dont get it. So I was thinking about that last night and I called them back and spoke to a gentleman there and he looked into it and he didnt tell me that they manufacture strollers a year behind for the next years model. He just said they get the latest stock from Joovy and that was it.

Can someone please enlighten me because I am so confused.

I guess I am used to getting new careseats and having the DOM being in the current year and a few months old if that. Maybe strollers are diffrent?

That DOM is a wee bit early to be considered a 2009 model.

Lots of stroller companies don't really have model years. They just have specific models that they make until they change them, then the new model gets made. And they don't expire like car seats so DOM isn't a big deal as long as you got the model you expected. So, if the strollers manufactured in 08-08 are the current models, then you're fine. If it doesn't have the same features as the current models, then you have an older model and unless it was on some sort of clearance sale or otherwise specified, I'd be kind of irked.

For example, the Mutsy 4Rider was the same stroller for years, exactly the same. They got produced as needed. So, if you got one from '06 it was exactly the same as one from '08, no difference and was just stored in the warehouse. Then they changed the front wheels in '09 I believe it was. So, if I ordered and paid the price for a current model, I'd be irked that I got one manufactured in '08. But if I ordered in '08 and got an '06, I doubt I'd care.

I would call Joovy and see what changes have been made to the stroller since August '08.
