Problem with SK Radian XTSL

I don't understand why it is so hard to pull and tighten the strap. Am I doing something wrong? We are using it RF.

It is a ratcheting kind. You have to pull, release, pull, release..... And they are kind of stiff too. I don't really mind it but some people don't like that.

It's not a smooth pull adjuster... more like tug-tug-tug. Be careful not to punch your kid in the face like I've done

It helps to pull the slack out and help feed it into the shoulder slots, or reach around and pull the harness from the back of the seat while pulling on the adjuster strap.

Exactly what the previous posters said.

When I use it RFing, I usually pull the straps tight from the *back*, while I tighten the harness adjuster.

I might have laughed too  I couldn't stand the RF recline on that XTSL... kind of makes me sad I was so happy about that seat and couldn't wait to get it. Once I got it- the little quirky things like the harness and recline made me get rid of it :(

I laughed a bit also...I know exactly what you're talking about!

I don't mind the ratcheting adjuster as much as the recline issue. I have leather seats and it is darn near impossible to get a more upright fit in my car.

HAHAHA. Yes. Have done it before. Ooops!!

The Tug Tug Tug will get easier once you get used to it and as the seat gets used more often and gets "broken in". Well you know so long as it's not -40 or more outside (seriously :( )

Thank you all. I had no idea that's how to tighten it. I thought I did a thorough research on every car seat. I was so excited about it. :( Now, I'm trying to get used with it. I kinda regret choosing the SK.
