We are planning to go to NYC for Thanksgiving to see the parade! Our daughter will be 19 months old at that time.
We originally were planning to stay in New Jersey and take the train into the city, but we have decided to splurge and stay in Midtown Manhattan, a few blocks from Central Park. (we'll be driving and parking there.) We have a nice backpack carrier that we will be planning on using most of the time, but will also have her stroller along. We think we will be able to walk to almost everything, but we are planning to get Transit passes so we can go on the buses and subway when needed.
My main question is what do you think of riding the subway and buses with DD in the backpack carrier and/or stroller. Is one safer than the other. If we backpack her, should we actually carry her in our arms when we're on public transportation or can we just leave her in the backpack? Would a stroller be really bulky and inconvenient? Benefits one way or another?
We're getting really excited for the trip and I just wanted to check out this safety detail early on! Thanks!
Any tips on visiting NYC would be welcome too!!
Thanks!
