I know this information is in previous threads, but I stink at searching.
dh was involved in a crash this morning. Some idiot ran a red light, and dh hit them. Our tahoe is driveable, but the front is mangled (bumper damage, hood damage, both front quarter panels damaged, his door is difficult to open/close due to the quarter panel damage)...not sure if there is any frame damage or not yet. dh was going 5-10 mph (he had been stopped for a redlight, and was just starting to go when his light turned green), so his seatbelt locked but airbag did not deploy. The other guy's S10 had to be towed - damage to the driver side, and flat tire(s). It did not have airbags. The S10 supposedly was going 40mph (I suspect a little faster)
Carseats were empty. We had a Graco Nautilus and a Safety 1st Complete Air LX.
Of course the insurance adjuster right away told me that since they were not occupied, they would need to be inspected. Bull. You cannot tell from inspection if there is damage.
Do these two manufacturers require replacement after any crash, or do they go by the other criteria? I just want my info straight when I nicely tell the adjuster why they need to be replaced, and what criteria I am using.
thanks
