Need convertible carseat advice

I watch my 1 year old nephew several days a week. He just turned 1 last week and is quickly out growing his snugride 35. He weighs approx 24 lbs, 32"tall with approx. 12 1/2" torso. I currently drive a 01 Ford F150 supercab with the the smaller back seat. I am hoping to get a tahoe or expedition in the next few months but not totally sure that plan is going to work out so the car seat needs to be in the center between my 2 teenagers that sit back there as well in the F150. I prefer to spend $100 or less would be better as I have to buy the seat myself. My sister just ordered a graco my ride 65 for him in her car but I am hoping to spend less than what she paid for her seat. Baby just seems to have much longer torso than my kids did so I am at a loss as to what seat to get him.

Thanks for any input:)

Hi there! I'd look at the Safety 1st Guide 65. It's usually about $80 and is at least as tall as the My Ride, if not taller. It's fairly narrow as well, though not super narrow.

If you have a target nearby, you could check their clearance right now. I saw a $80 myride at mine yesterday, so it would be worth a shot if you want a myride.

I would love to grab a My Ride on clearance.:) My sister works at target so she has been watching for them to clearance but no such luck yet. Can you tell me the pattern of the one you saw on clearance?

I read reviews on the Guide 65 and lots of people complained about the way the head rest pushes the head forward. Do you know if this is common? No stores in my area carry the Guide 65 so I would have to order it online before being able to check it out.

It's not unheard of, but it's not universal. If you like it otherwise, buy it from someplace with a good return policy.

I was going to order the Guide 65 this weekend but my target has the Evenflo Sure Ride DXL 65 on clearance right now for $70. Should I try to pick up the sureride instead of ordering the Guide 65?
