Need Booster Help!

Gosh, I don't know what to do....

DD will be 5 in April. She is just over 44 lbs and 45 inches. She rides in a Frontier 85 in my car. She pretty much has outgrown the Triumph we have her in in dh's car. So, we need another seat. She doesn't ride in that vehicle very often and never for long periods of time. I really only have two options if I'm getting a harnessed booster: another Frontier 85 (which I'm not going to spend the $ on) or a SecureKid. Not sure what those are pricing at. I tried her in the Argos/Nautilus and I wasn't impressed. She was squished in the shoulder area and didn't feel very comfortable. Plus, from what I've read, she's going to outgrow the booster mode pretty quickly and I'll need to get a HBB then.

I'm considering a HBB for his vehicle (and this will also be used in my parent's car when needed). Would you put your almost 5 year old (with her stats) in a HBB, on occasion? Just out of curiousity, what HBB would you recommend?

I wasn't going to, but then changed my mind. My son turned 5 last month and his Marathon was expiring (and he was about one meal from outgrowing it by height). We already have a Nautilus in my car. I was going to get another for his dad's car, but he is over 40 lbs and is technically safe in a booster if he sits correctly. So I got a good deal on one at Costco (Turbo Booster) and we tried it out. He does great. I have to remind him sometimes to sit up straight but he does really well. He gets mad if he has to ride in the Nautilus now! So, we have the booster in dad's car and the harnessed seat in my car. In my opinion, if your child is 5 and over 40 lbs, see how she does. She has to be able to sit correctly the entire trip. :)

I think a booster would be fine. We moved ours to boosters in the 2 vehicle shortly after 4y because they were over 50# and choices were limited and they weren't in there very much. We have turbos in there. The kids do great in them. We moved ds to a booster full-time at 5y because he had to have a new seat and he was close to growing the frontier85. I'm glad he had short trips to prepare for that move.
