I just called about mine & am getting a replacement seat. The left click tight button was near impossible to release. Yesterday closing the click tight it wouldn't lock on the right side! Ugh!!

I've had to switch to a UAS install in the meantime

I bought my seat just a few weeks ago and it's DOM is May. I have the hardest time getting the click tight to open. I was just going to live with this problem but it seems to be getting more and more difficult. I think I will call Britax and ask if I can receive a new seat. The harness sticks also but I was just going to live with that too. UGH!! Why would I want to live with something when I paid so much for the seat?!?!

I finally got to see them at TRU in WA. They had one of each Frontier on display. Both were broken. Someone had snapped the plastic off on the cheaper one and the mechanism more expensive one wouldn't close. After playing with it for awhile (the lady was there and helping and actually knew a lot about seats) we realized that the latch was in the way. Then we fixed that, tried it again and it wouldn't close at all. Think she said the button was stuck.

I was glad I hadn't bought one and am kicking myself for skipping the $199 TRU Frontier clearance ones. First generation (anything) always have problems and wait until at least the second generation is out! LOL

The old one closed easily but squeezing the click tight to open was difficult, Many times the click tight would push in on one side, but not the other. When it "broke" the click tight release buttons (not sure what to call them?) were both stuck in so I could close the click tight but the metal bar wouldn't lock into place. I hope I am explaining that clearly. With the new one both sides push in very easily.

The old one had an April DOM, the new one's DOM is 7/15.
This makes me nervous. I just got ours a week or so ago. I've only installed it a few times, but it's gotten stuck closed once. It took two sets of hands to get it unstuck and open. I've only re-installed once since then, but gah. I hope it's not an ongoing issue.

Wow, I really hope they fix these issues! I need to upgrade DS1 in spring and was planning to purchase a FR90. How long does it usually take for britax to release the next "generation?" is it annually?

I been moving my frontier 90 a lot and the click tight has been flawless so far. I used to dread moving our frontier 85 because it took forever and I always lost a few nails in the process... But now it is so quick and easy.
