1. You can twist the buckle stalk up to three times around to shorten it and this might help. Also, the lock-offs are not required. I actually get a better install in my car without the lock-offs.

2. I'm not quite sure what your are referring to with the tethers. You need to attach one tether around each seat track and then buckle the tethers onto each of those. Hmmm, I'm not very good at explaining things lol, but do you know what I mean? The pictures in the manual are pretty good I think. If you want I can post pictures too of what mine looks like.

3. I found it helpful to attach the tethers loosely, install the belt with the belt, then get the foot prop in the right place, then really tighten the tethers hard. This will help you get the foot prop really snug and in the right place, kwim.

Just post if you need help installing it :D You'll HATE it at first and then get used to the way it installs and  it.

To gain more leg room you can put a rolled towel or pool noodle in the seat bight. That will keep the seat base from slipping into the bight. I had to do that in my Yukon.

What I mean is the big tan covering that goes from one leg to the other in the shape of a c? There should be somewhere under that to tether if you can get it off! I am not to sure about tethering to the seat like you have it! Now I wanna go fond the manual online!

You want to feed the tethers around the front and through the back of the seat on each side so they are *hugging* the joint of the seat. The way you have them wrapped is not correct.

You need to pull your footprop out away from the seat further. There should be an angle guide at the back of your manual to help you get the correct angle. The prop needs to move forward towards the front seat.

Ok I stuffed a hand towel in the seat bight and moved the prop out more. Also I think I have the proper tether position. What do you think?
