More help w/Latch-RN XTSL install

Me again, back with another issue. In my previous post, I was told I had my latch connectors upside down so I reinstalled today. I do have them up now but I'm still not sure I have it right because the latch buckle is now pressed against the plastic part of the seat (pics below).

Any other way I tried to finagle it to get the latch connectors up, the straps would have to be twisted which I know is not right. So, is either this ok or what the heck am I missing? I promise you all that I'm usually quite intelligent!

Unthread it and switch sides. I think the adjuster should be on the driver's side for a rf SL. At least, that's how it was in the one I installed. It took me 2-3 minutes to get it threaded correcltly with the anchors right side up, the adjuster accessible, and no twists.

yup, this is the solution :)

It seems like it should be a no brainer after the fact, but while you are playing with it, you can't not think how to make it work :D

Argghhh, I'm going to try again. It works perfectly like you both say with the latch connectors upside down. I could not get it without it being twisted. I'll have DH look at it also, maybe I'm just not seeing it.

Is nothing allowed to twist, even the strap coming down off the seat to the latch belt?

That strap is just so it doesn't get lost. As long as it isn't pulling on the LATCH strap, it can be as twisted as you want.

And FTR I sat out in my car with the stupid LATCH strap in my hand, too, trying to figure out how it was supposed to go!
