Mold on car seat.cover

I stored my xtsl cover and it must not have been completly dry because I got it out today and found mold on it. Washed it and it hasnt come out or just left black stains. Is there away to get it out and save this cover?

Are they little speckles of mold? I seem to think I read on a cloth diaper discussion once to stick mold speckled cloth diapers in the freezer and it will get rid of it. Never understood why but can't hurt? (I get it would kill it but seems so would laundering and it didn't so...)

Diapers are really the only place I have ever deal with mold that didn't come out in the laundry. never tried the freezer thing to confirm it, sorry.

Is it the slippery kind of cover of the softer kind?

Softer kind....its got black spots all over it.

Soak in oxyclean and hot water for a few days, changing the water daily. Wash in the washing machine with no soap until there are no more bubbles and dry in the sun.

I used this method to get mildew out of a BJCMD skin and you can't see any spots unless you look really closely. Most of them are gone and the rest faded so much they're barely visible.
