If a Marathon has a July 2006 manufacture date, what is the expiry? And did they change the seats to extend the expiry since then?

A Marathon that was manufactured in July 2006 would have a 6 year expiry meaning it expires next month - July 2012.
There was a change made to the Britax seats in September 2010 and when they re-designed them they also increased the expiry from 6 yrs to 7yrs. Part of the re-design included a change in the composition of the plastic though that allowed them to lengthen the lifespan of the seat.
Your seat was made using different plastic formulation and can't be used as of next month. If you'd like to post back with your child's age, weight, and the type of vehicle you use the seat in then I'm sure that we'll be able to give you some suggestions for what to replace the seat with.
