So last week I received my true fit premier and just today when looking at the registration card saw that the Dom is 8/2010. The seat was on sale for $159 but they did not state the seat was a year and a half old. Do you think they will let me return it. I really don't like that the seat is so old.

That's a killer deal, though. Babies R Us seats are pushing a year old and usually a full $229, so I'd probably be fine with it. I doubt albee has anything newer, they tend to be like the BigLots! of baby gear, good deals on stuff other stores can't sell.

I would call them, though. If it wasn't marked as a clearance seat, I don't know that you should necessarily expect it to be backstock that's 18 months old. Usually I think they sell that stuff on eBay ("babysurplus") with the DOM in the listing.

It was a good deal, but I'd be a bit disappointed about not disclosing a DOM that's more than a year out of date. I'm not sure I'd insist on them issuing a refund or a replacement, but I'd at least want them to know I was disappointed.

Carseats on Albee that are marked down that far are considered clearance, so it's a good deal

Sent from my iPod touch, sorry for any auto-correct typos!

Now I'm going to have to talk to DH about going and buying one. LOL. I found it on Albeebaby. Still $159 shipped. LOL. http://www.albeebaby.com/the-first-years-c670-true-fit-in-rails-stripe.html

It would be nice in the pickup truck since there's no place to RF tether and the seat belts don't lock... and DD is tall and lean so I don't think the 35 lb RF limit will be an issue... do I need a car seat just for the pickup truck? Will ask DH when he gets home.

It has a 7 year expiration, so if it's a year and a half old, you still get 5 1/2 years, and honestly, people pay close to that for seats with 6 year expirations that are half a year old all the time, so if you like the seat, since it has such a tall shell and is quite long lasting, it's a good deal. :)

I'd contact them. They've been known to give store credit if the DOM is really old and the customer is unhappy. There are always great deals on seats online, so I don't equate a killer deal with an old DOM. I think the seat is worth it with the old DOM for that price, but you should still contact them if you're unhappy.

The same thing happened to me with Amazon. I bought our Nautilus Elite for $150. Excited about the price...not so excited about the DOM (a year prior), BUT by the time it expires, both children will get good use out of it, so I was okay with it.
