Looking at convertibles...

We have a big girl. She is 22# and almost 6m and very long in the torso. She is almost to the point of needing the top slots on her onboard35. We will be handing the onboard down to our niece or nephew in April, so I have about a month to get a new seat. I think I have this decided but wanted to ask you guys/gals to double check.

I was thinking a radian rxt in Spring. DH likes lighter colored covers. I want a 45# rf seat. Our kids have all been 35# at 2y. So I want the max rf weight I can get in the US. I showed DH several seats - Peg Pergo, foonf, mysize70, and I think a few others and he liked the looks of the radian best. We have our almost 6y in a frontier that will expire when our youngest is 7.5y so we already have the next seat.

Anything else I should look at? We have space by the way. YDD is in the middle of the 2nd row of a yukonxl with a frontier on the drivers side and a bigger kid (no seat) on the other side.

Also what is a good price on a Radian RXT?

The foonf, peg, and radian are the highest RFing weight limit seats on the market. The my size 70 doesn't have the 45+ lb weight limit but has the tallest shell. Since she's so young you're really playing a guessing game of whether she'll outgrow by height or weight first, but if all your other kids have been 35lbs at 2, getting a 45lb limit seat is probably a good idea. The radian is a great choice, assuming it works in your car (check the 'successful install thread' or ask here, unless you want to try the install and return if you have to). I got my RXT for about $200, I think, but that was by stacking coupons with diapers.com, which they don't do anymore -- I think anything under about $250 is pretty good.

Chicco also has a new seat coming out in a few months, if you think you will make it that long. It looks like a very nice seat, but has a 40lb weight limit.

I think a Radian is a great choice, you will want to check it may not work in the center, depending on where the hinges are on the vehical seat. you will have to wait a few months to use an angle adjuster. We have a R120 and a RXT and we love them/need them for our BIG babies.
