Locking latch plate loosening

I have a ff bv70 installed ff in a 98 Sierra ext cab with locking latch plates. I put it in a few weeks ago and bypassed the lockoffs. It was rock the car solid. Yesterday I noticed that it had about 1/2" movement. The only explanation I can think of is that it is slipping a bit. I tightened it back down and plan to check it again in a few days. Can I use the lockoffs to solve this issue in the short term? Is it really a safety problem if the latch plate slips a little in terms of having an adult passenger in that spot?

Other possibly relevant info: I already have a retrofitted tt in this spot but I haven't had the seatbelts inspected.

It's a shoulder-lap belt, right? If yes, then what Judi said.

If it's the centre lap-only belt, then a slipping latchplate may be a problem. It depends if it's slipping because it's not working properly, or if it's slipping because of the angle of the belt. The angle of the belt can be corrected by flipping the latchplate upside-down.

Yes, it's the outboard lap/shoulder. We plan to replace the vehicle soon and its secondary so i dont think we will need to use the center but I think I will be sure to flip it just in case if we somehow do end up with a cr installed in center.
