LATCH/ UAS weight limit for '08 Pontiac Montana mini van?

I'm just helping a friend with their Frontier in their Montana. I remember that there was no point in using UAS with my Frontier in my car because my child was close to the weight limit in my car. It is so much easier to get her seat in safely with UAS in her vehicle.

But I seem to remember that if I can't find a LATCH/ UAS limit I am to assume a 40 lb LATCH/UAS limit.

Anyone have a LATCH/UAS guide and can look up what the limit is on a 2008 Pontiac Montana?

Thanks!
Beth

GM brands are all 48lbs unless the restraint states a lower limit. I *think* Britax might have a 40lb limit, but check the manual.

Hmmm, I thought I had read follow the car manual and if not stated, assume 40 lbs. But I've seen a LATCH/UAS guide and thought that there weren't really many brands that didn't have a limit so was surprised when I couldn't find one in the car manual.

Unfortunately most vehicle manufacturers do NOT include the limit in the vehicle manual - but then report that the limit exists and needs to be followed. IMHO, it is always safest to assume a 40lb limit unless/until you can verify it with someone who has a LATCH manual. I would probably not even waste my time trying to track down the limit by calling the manufacturer because of stories I have read here of people being given incorrect information or no information at all.

Almost. :) GM models including the OP's friend's Pontiac Montana do have a 48 lb. lower LATCH anchor installation weight limit (child weight) according to the LATCH manual. Britax states to assume a 40 lb. LATCH installation weight limit unless the vehicle manufacturer states a different LATCH weight limit, so a LATCH installation is allowable with the Frontier in the Montana up to 48 lbs.
