Just planning ahead

Ok so I found out that we are expecting and the baby will be born around the end of June. I am trying to plan out our carseats.

Currently DS (3yrs 10 mons) is FF in a RadianXT. He is 42 lbs naked and about 43" tall he will be 4.5 years old when baby is born.

My idea was to pass down the RadianXT to the baby (although I have to buy a new rf foot as mine was damaged by the lower anchor in our car and I tossed it after having it replaced by SK once already)

Then putting DS into a harness/booster combo seat. I was thinking of the Frontier as he is a big guy.

Does this seem like a good plan? Any other ideas or input? We are on a really tight budget but I figure if I start saving now I can afford the frontier and am hoping it will be the last seat purchase.

Thanks,
Scarlett

That sounds like a good plan to me. And there are often Frontiers on swap here so you could snag one cheap. Or just watch sales.

And congratulations!

Hi,

Congrats. :)

Your plan sounds great.

Another option would be a Scenera for the baby, and a highback Turbobooster when your ds outgrows the Radian. At that point the baby could take the Radian and you'd have the Scenera as a spare. Heck you could even snag a Monterey on sale now and tuck it away, if you felt you wanted a fancy booster for ds. That and a Scenera is still less money than one Frontier. :)

Just make sure that you are buying a Canadian one off swap and/or any online sales that you see. The *best* Canadian Frontier price I've seen is $240, not what I would call cheap but better than the $300+ they usually go for...
