Jane Indy booster for smaller size 6.5 year old??

I'm still on my search for a booster for my 6.5 year old. He's short, about 42 inches about 43 pounds. He sits fabulously in the vivo we have, but doesn't think its cushy like the marathon he was used to. I was set on the Monterrey, but have read its not good for smaller kids and we don't have latch to keep it in place. So....

I found a jane indy (not the one that latches in) and it looks nice. Its on sale for $119. Not sure if this would be a good choice or if its a good price. Any suggestions? I just about gave in and got a turbobooster with the extra padding, but I just want a really good seat, that will be comfy for long trips and not sure what to buy. Thanks if you have any suggestions.

For a child that size who wants a 'cushy' booster, I'd skip the Jane Indy and head directly to the Graco Turbobooster with the 'gracopedic' foam.

I've never heard anyone complain of the comfort of the Jane....? The folks I know who own them find their kids really like them, and there is absolutely no comparison between it's solid construction and the Turbo, plus the top headrest position is taller so it will last longer.

The Indy is H's primary booster now, and we both LOVE it. Ours is the Plus with rigid LATCH, but the regular Indy should be basically the same. It adjusts really tall. H is at the top setting of the Turbo now, and still has a good two inches in the Indy. She finds the Parkway uncomfortable on longer trips (probably due to the shape of the seat, the slope of the seating area, and how it narrows at the back), but she never once has complained about the Indy.

Ok, I must be loosing my mind...I could have SWORN you posted a picture a few months back with H in the Indy, and you commented how it was a nice seat but she was allready too tall for it and it was too shallow for her.

What was that picture? Which seat? :crying:

Hmmm...I dunno. The FPSV is the only booster I can think of that she's already actually too tall for, but seat depth is fine (which is why we got a Starriser Comfy when Courtfrog found one at a store near her; it's virtually identical to the FPSVB, but taller).

The Indy is at least as tall as our Parkway. I'll try to do some updated comparison pics in the next few days...right now we've got the Indy, Parkway, Starriser Comfy, Fisher Price Safe Voyage, and Turbo. Andie's got the Vivo, so I can have her bring that over, too. I really need to get a Monterey. :p

Megan, the downsides to the Turbo, IMO, the shallow(er) wings compared to others (like the Indy, Recaro Vivo, Sunshine Kids Monterey). However, the Turbo positions seatbelts very well on smaller booster riders, which is the purpose of a booster. Great wings are a huge benefit, IMO, but they aren't going to make up for a bad belt fit.
