Is your Britax B-safe...

really difficult to get off the base? I push in (ETA: I mean pull) the piece that is supposed to release it, and it doesn't want to release. I'm wondering if this is typical or possibly defective. Other than that, I do like the seat quite a bit. Buckling is very nice.

Mine releases beautifully, it's the smoothest release of any infant seat I've ever used. What do you mean by pushing in on the release? Mine has an outward pulling motion.

LOL, since it's so hard to pull, every time I also try to push it in just to see if I'm doing it wrong. I meant pulling.

Make sure your pulling the lever from the back not the sides that releases it from the stroller. I've never had an issues but my hubby did and he was pulling from the side 😝

Make sure you are pulling the release handle out all the way and lifting the seat up straight. I've never had this issue with a b-Safe, nor have I heard of anyone else having this issue so hopefully it'll be easily fixed :)

I am trying to pull and tilt like you do with a Graco or Chicco, so maybe that is my problem.

In the video here it shows them just pulling straight up, thats what i've always done. It should come out if you tilt it while pulling the release lever as well but maybe yours is a bit finicky.

It is working now. I found that if I rock it backwards (toward the front of the car) rather than pulling straight or rocking forwards, it releases super easy. Yay! I don't know if I needed to do this the whole time or if it has loosened up after a few uses, but it's working great now.
I would definitely recommend this car seat. This is my 5th baby and I have had Gracos and Chiccos, and I liked the Chicco but I think I like the Britax even more because it buckles so well, and the straps adjust well.
