Is this possible?

I haven't read through the BBC thread yet, but a pp here said that the seat was a Dorel. Assuming proper use, the seat was *not* tethered.

Equilibrium,
If you have a child that is forward facing in their car seat and you are in a crash head on, then all the passengers will move forward, when hit (towards the point of impact). Then they will move backwards to rebound.

If you have a rear facing child and are rear-ended, some people say that it's the same thing as a frontal collision with a FF child. However, I disagree.

Regardless, in most survivable situations, rear facing is safest for your child because most collisions are frontal. IF your child is rear facing and you are in a frontal collision, then your child will move into the back of his car seat, then move forward for rebound. The first motion is called "ride down" which spreads the forces of the crash along his whole back, not just his head and legs if FF.
Does that make sense?

I'm not going to comment on the OP of the thread, because I don't think I have any helpful points to add. However, that's a baby girl TCP shirt (sorry, I can't help it. Ya know how we can glance in a car and know the seat? I'm like that with kid clothes ) Again, not helpful for the real point of the thread, but can't help but reply
