Is installing in a 3rd row Sienna more difficult?

I am moving my 4 1/2 year old to the 3rd row to accomodate a new baby. She is sitting in a Nautilus. The install in the 2nd row captain chair (latch) was rock solid, tight as can be.

We just moved the seat to the 3rd row. I can't seem to get it as rock solid as the captain's chair. It is totally acceptable at the belt path, but just not as overall tight as the other seat. Also, I just read that the rear headrest must be removed and stay removed while using a top tether. I never knew that in my old Sienna! (05). No one was back there anyways, but still I hate not knowing. Should I try a seatbelt install, or is this just how it is in a 3rd row seat?

We have our GN installed 3rd row, passenger outboard in my parents 03 Sienna, I did have to recline the seat, install and have my dad push from behind while i pulled and we got it in there rock solid although I keep meaning to try with seatbelt as she's over 40 lbs. now so I need to know if it will work when she's at the weight limit for the lower anchors.I have looked through my parents owners manual and didn't see anything abaout the headrests having to be removed when using a tether, don't know if I missed it or if they changed it for newer ones. I will definitely be double checking next time I see them though.

The LATCH anchors don't sit quite so deep down in the seat bight in the 3rd row so that might have something to do with it. I've had a Marathon on the 40 split side of my 3rd row for a long time and can get it very tight, but it's a very different seat. You might try reclining the seat a little and then clicking it back up a notch after you install. I do always take out the headrest.

I have an 04 and it briefly states to remove the headrest in the 3rd row when installing a carseat. We also do the reclne of the seat and then pushing it up to tighten trick.
