Question Is he too big??? :(

I think my son may have outgrown his seat rear-facing. Does it look like he has more time or no? I don't want to forward face him but can't afford a new seat right now :(

It's kind of hard to tell from the angle of these pictures, but it looks to me like he might have about 1" until he outgrows the seat.

I agree, he has a while yet. If you can find a 1" thick book and put it on his head, it will give you a better idea. An inch will last a while at his age :)

right now you have the top of the headrest even with the top of the shell, so get a book... and a ruler. It looks to me like you have 1-2 inches left

This may be a stupid question but what good is that moveable headrest if the height still goes by the base shell? What is having the padding go up doing for you if not extending the height of the seat?

Not a stupid question--it seems pretty useless, right? When forward facing though, that extra height makes a difference. Some rear facers will use it too. Three of my kids have outgrown the BLVD 65 with the head rest part raised up above the shell rear facing.
