Intera fabric question

Sorry for all the questions here
I was looking HERE, since it's on sale; but I was wondering if anyone knew whether it was soft fabric or not?
I can get a black one locally (about a 1 hr drive), but it's $139, so if the houndstooth one is just as soft (the Target employee I talked to said the black fabric was basically like upholstry/car interior fabric...which I would think would be soft enough for a baby/toddler) then it'd be nice to save $30.

But if it's super rough or scratchy I'd rather just suck it up and get the softer one

we have the gray one and its is very soft almost suede like(best comparison i can think of)...i hate it! my son sweats buckets in that seat(luckily hes only in it once or twice a week). We also have an older model(one with the puzzle buckle) in blue and it has a cover like the scenera material that my daughter rides in and she has no problems and never did.
